DOUGLASS

This will be my first year teaching at Douglas High School teaching Spanish.  I’m excited to be a Bulldog! 

I started my teaching career in Wichita working as an ESOL teacher in the spring of 2009.  Then in August 2009 I began teaching Spanish at Andover Central High School. I taught at ACHS for 8 years, serving as the district department chair for 4 of those years.  While there I also was the head cheerleading coach for 4 years and prom sponsor for 6 years.  In 2017, I decided to stay home with my kids and build my photography business.  

I'm married to my high school sweetheart and best friend, Brock.  Shortly after starting to date, I left for college at Kansas State University (EMAW!!) and he stayed in Wichita. We got married in Wichita after four years of being apart, and now have four munchkins to wrangle. Addison is 10yrs and loves figure skating and soccer.  She currently wants to be a director or teacher when she grows up.  Kennedy is 7yrs and is the goofiest, but sweetest girl. She loves anything that sparkles and wants to be a cheerleader. Garrett is 4yrs and is obsessed with all things cars and monster trucks.  Gage is 3yrs and is our rough and tumble kid. He loves animals (especially dogs and turtles), mowing, and is the orneriest of our bunch, but gives the best hugs. We have 2 dogs, Bear and Gus. Bear is a chocolate lab and Gus is a Shitzu.

Outside of teaching, I am a wife and mom and professional photographer.  I’m a Jesus-lover who loves new experiences and living simply.  I love snuggling on the couch with my dogs and reading a good book or watching a good show.  Most of the time you can find me at home or acting as chauffeur for my four kiddos.  I drink WAY too much coffee, sing along to whatever music is playing while dancing around the house, try to sneak in new house plants without Brock noticing ;), and dream up vacations while watching Hallmark love stories and Youtube shows about RV living.
