Howdy, Partners!  Let’s “put our boots on” for a new year of “training.”  I’m “Chomping at the bit”, as this isn’t “my first rodeo” of trying to stuff as much knowledge inside our heads as possible!  “Get along little dogies” and “Mooooove” on down to Mrs. Wright’s room to get the “ho-down” on my classroom rules.

In order to guarantee your “buckaroo” and the rest of the “herd” in my classroom, the excellent learning climate they deserve, I will be implementing a classroom management plan that encourages a positive approach to good behavior.  My goal will be to recognize and “reward” “WANTED” behavior both individually and as a “herd”.  I believe an atmosphere that encourages self-worth, respect and resposibility is critical to insure that maximum learning is taking place.  I am positive that is the type of learning atmosphere you would want for your “young’n”.

I have set two key behaviors for the students to demonstrate.  These are responsibility and respect.  These expectations will be clearly communicated, demonstrated and practiced with the students and will continue to be taught throughout the year.

I will reward “cash” on a daily basis for appropriate student behaviors.  Your child will be able to save and spend the “reward money” to purchase small prizes, treats and special privileges.  Some rewards will be offered daily and others will be weekly.  Students will also earn a “Yippee ki-Yay”, positive communication and special recognition for their good behavior.  A plan will also be in place for the whole class to be rewarded when good classroom behaviors are being demonstrated.

“Hold your horses”! bucks may also be taken from a “buckaroo” or the “herd” when their behavior is not being displayed.  I will “take the bull by the horns” and visit with a child individually when I see that their behavior is “going astray”.  I will give you a “holler” when I feel your child’s behavior has become a “stampede” for others or when it is getting in the way of them working to their potential.

I believe this management plan will encourage your child to follow the rules of the “herd” as well as give your child a feeling of self-worth for a “roundup” well done.  Through the cooperation of the “Sherriff” and “Wranglers”, this management plan will be a great benefit to the students.

So….. “saddle up your horses” and get ready for a “rip-roar’n, good ‘ole fashion” school year! “YeeHaw”!
