I graduated from Douglass High in 1982. I received my bachelors degree in teaching (Elementary Education and Seconday Family and Consumer Science) in 1986 from Southwestern College in Winfield, KS.
I began teaching at Douglass High in 2002. Before teaching at Douglass, I ran my own Preschool for 8 years and previous to that I taught 2nd Grade in Wichita, KS for 3 years.
I married my high school sweetheart, Brent Nispel, in November 1987. We are blessed with 3 wonderful children. I am very proud to say that both my husband and I and all of our children are DHS alumni. Benjamin is 33 years old, he works at Spirit Aerosystems in Wichita, Kansas. Ben and his wife Linda live in Andover, KS. Logan is 31 years old. Logan is married to Ivy (Lovendahl) Nispel. Logan and Ivy both graduated from KU, and are living in Andover and working in Wichita, KS. Bayley is 27 years old and is a 4th Grade teacher in Douglass. She is married to Drew Cader, who is a high school history teacher and coach at DHS. I also have a wonderful 1 year old grandson, who I was lucky enough to babysit this summer! I am also a proud mom to many pets: 2 Bassett hounds, 2 Pomeranians , many cats. I also have some pretty awesome grand animals.
When I'm not teaching, I love spending time with my family and pets! I also love camping.
